Modersia is the work of textile artist and designer Mark Hanlon, who has been creating within the world of textiles since 2011. His journey began with a profound fascination for Persian carpets - their intricate symbolism, craftsmanship, and the way each rug served as a woven story of its maker and owner.

After more than a decade designing bespoke textiles for interiors, Modersia brings Hanlon full circle - back to the art form that first ignited his creative path. This new project reimagines the ancient storytelling traditions of Persian weaving for modern times, uniting personal narrative with enduring craftsmanship.

Only a limited number of rugs are created each year. Every design is developed slowly and with intent, then handwoven over the course of three months or more using techniques refined over two millennia.
